STUDIO G & S ARCHITECTS / Ruthland Road Residence

This new, single-family residence was designed for an engineer/developer in the Oakland Hills. The house originally located on the lot burned in a fire; however, the foundations remained largely intact. Reuse of the existing foundations and the owner's preference for a Mediterranean feeling hillside home drove the design. Effort was made to carefully articulate the building's appearance from the downhill street side. A grand central stair organizes the house with views of the Bay.
