An existing turn of the century Edwardian had fallen into a state of disrepair. Earlier renovations had removed all of the character from the interiors, and neglect had severely damaged the exterior. The approach to the renovations and addition was to restore the exterior to its original appearance and create interiors that reflect, rather than imitate, historical styles. An integrated family room and kitchen at the rear of the house face onto an indoor-outdoor fireplace and deck. A master bedroom suite was created at the top floor facing city views. A usable garage and entertainment room were created at the ground floor. This project was featured on the annual Victorian Alliance Tour of San Francisco.
