This kitchen and dining room addition integrates house and landscape through large French doors and an exterior deck. Custom Douglas Fir cabinetry, slate countertops, and color relate the interior atmosphere to the owner's collection of arts and crafts. Exterior wood shingles were incorporated as an interior wall finish. The client, a shingle contractor with a sense of humor, did the work himself.
